WE'RE Baaacccckkk!

JJ and I are so, so, so sorry.

Life. Just smacked us last year.

No time due to work? CHECK

No time due to school? CHECK CHECK

No time due to lack of inspriation or motivation? Errr...well kinda...OKAY FINE CHECK!!

=)

But we talked long and thought hard, once a week with our schedules did nothing but makes us feel pressured and we did not complete, then we felt like we failed. So that is why we, err kinda stopped. So now we have it worked out, same M.O

Theme will be on a single word, color, quote or song anything.

But now it is only twice a month.

We will still switch off.

So the theme for Sept 5th will be

" Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine"
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Come back and see what we both do.

Oh and If you like our lil photos pass our name down, we want to get more people looking, get more people creating their own photo projects and for all those amazing photographers out there. Get there thoughts on our shots.

If a picture is worth a thousand words?

We are doing this weeks photos to this quote:

"Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

HENCE the title of the post.

Basically putting a picture that WE each feel represents the words, to us. I love this idea because I have seen other great bloggers doing it and two it can really show differences in how people take a quote or a poem. Which I just get a kick out of.

My picture is of Mount Rainer flying home in September this year. I appreciate beauty...I appreciate this scene and I appreciate the courage it took me to take this...I reminded myself to breath and felt overwhelmed with anxiety to look out of the plane and take pictures of the ground below me and they sky next to me. Traveling in a small part of my world...I found beauty near me and the beauty of courage inside of me. - JJ

So my photo is in FlanderFields, it is a big WWI area. They have amazing things that really help remember that sad war and the amazing people that lost their life. They have these serene monuments, informational museums and neat trenches. PLus much more. This photo is from that. I think it is fitting. I read that quote and thought that it is saying you must find the beauty where ever you go, you must enjoy what you have before it is gone. Realize how beauitful we each are. So I wanted to post a picture of a one section in one of the graveyards of the thousands of men who lost their lives, a huge portion of which are unmarked. The dark lighting on the headstones and the light coming behind the clouds...signals " Moving On"...I am a believer in Heaven and God.. so that is what I think of with the light. And to me God truly is beauty.

Random

Here is Hulk. I know, it's kid-like having a pet spider. He (or she) has been living on our deck for about two weeks now. I observed the first week that he hadn't been eating. I assumed this because I take the dogs out so frequently I thought for sure I would seen a victim tangled in his web eventually. One day I decided to not only feed him, but name him. I now give him about 3 ants a day. They are red and black smaller ants. I smash them just enough so that they stop running but are still squirming. I bring the ant to the web and watch. It's cool as hell to watch him eat. It is the same order every time. He moves quickly to wrap the partially dead, moving ant into the web, repairs the damage I've done, then goes back to get the ant, picks a spot in the center of the web and starts eating. I think it's clever. Everyone feels bad for the ant...but I say that is what you get for not being born the big dog of bugs. Hulk survived the thunderstorm last night, I was eager to check this morning. I see now he has a neighbor. Word must be going around that we feed well. Ridiculous I know, but very entertaining. - JJ

Hooray, for the last week of random. I like having a theme. I take lots of pictures every week, yet it is so hard to choose what "random" picture to post. I have seen some other weekly photo blogs, that do themes with poems or quotes. I think we will do that too. That will be fun to try out. Anyways this is just a picture of Ryon and I, at a club, with roses in our mouths. Can you tell? Look you can see my pink necklaces, the red background, our eyes. Creepy a bit right? Well my hair had been straightened that night, by moi! =) But it was so muggy in the club, that it was allll sorts of frizzy. Soo I did a kadlidskope reflection effect and liked it. So this is my random photo.

Here is Snoop in front of the fan and wet after daddy just gave her a bath. It reached 103 in Seattle and we tried to make sure the pups stayed cool!! -JJ

Here is a doorknob in the Tower of London. I love how weathered it looks. I touched it and just felt a zing. Probally all in my head, just the thought that Kings, Queens, Princes, Anne Boelyn could have touched it?? Ahhh, gotta love history.

So here is another catch up post, another random photo, as soon as we catch up we will go back to the themes.

I am posting a picture from a random, stunning sunset view from my backyard. I like that we both did a version of Sun, it is like a theme without a theme. =)
~Bridgette~

Sun from Lake Washington this past Saturday. I never expected such fabulous sun days here in Seattle...They truly are stunning...Specially when you are trying to tan! -JJ

So we are playing catch up right now, we do apologize. But here is our random photo from a week in June. Now my photo is in a town of Chievres, Belgium. It is actually on my drive home. I love the mix of the purple and green trees.

Random 22/52

I have to be the one to apolgize for the delay in getting caught up on this blog, I have been so busy that I totally dropped the ball, so hopefully we will still keep our 5 followers!!=) Here is my random picture. It is in a town called Namur, Belgium. This is part of an inner tunnel of the citedelle. Awesome place.

We came to the conclusion that it would be fun to just post a random photo, just showing something we did or saw during a week. So here is my random photo.

Here is Salt Lake City Utah From 30,000 Feet. I took this on my way home the 22nd of June...Of Course after I cleaned up the mascara and tears from my eyes after horrible turbulence. - JJ

Round 21/52

This is from a trip to Namur, Belgium. It is just a tree stump we walked past that caught my eye and took a bunch of different angles of it. I thought it was fitting for round since, it has two cirlces. But since it has been awhile since I edited a photo, I figured do a old newspaper affect, with some curling.
~Bridgette~

I thought this was kinda cool.

I took a picture of it today...It's the exercise ball from the gym.

I am thinking about getting one to keep at home...People use this and never think to clean it!

It's plastic so pretty easy to...Who knows the microorganisms that sit on this thing! - JJ

Summer 20/52

View of the pool from our gym. I haven't gone yet but I can not wait till another hot day...
Then I'm there! - JJ

I love this season, do not get me wrong I love winter too. It is just something about bbqs, water parks, hot days, loooong sunny days, that get me smiling. I am using this picture of my lab Friday who loooves, I mean loooves to play with the water. He sees Dad getting the hose out to water anything and he thinks * PLAYTIME* This is a shot I captured just right, It looks like he is hurt, shying away from the water. He really does love to get hit in the face.

TIME: 19/52

Why did it stop at 3:45? What was I doing on that day? I love this watch and have not worn it in..well I have no clue how many days, weeks or even months have past since I last wore it. I just feel that I do not have enough time, that the time I have I waste so effortlessly. I know so many people just do not have enough time in one day to do all they want. I feel I do not have enough time to do thngs that NEED to be done. That is why I picked time this week, because It is something I am desperatly seeking out.

Since I was about 15 years old I have made a wish when a clock read 11:11...It's crazy to look back and see how wishes have changed over the years. I took this picture last night on my microwave for our time theme. For some reason...I forgot to make a wish. - JJ

Happy 18/52

This pic. was taken on Saturday - JJ

To me there is nothing more endearing than a smile and/or laughter from a child. This lovely young girl, well toddler, is my friend's lil girl Addison. This is at her 2nd birthday party. This was while we were singing Happy Birthday to her. Simple Pleasures.

Dirty 17/52

Picture of dirt and leaves outside our house after the rain.
- JJ

I know we are behind on our posts, we apologize. Life kinda caught up and swiped us off our feet. Well atleast me........BUT now back on track. I picked dirty because I think it is something people try so hard to hide, thinking we have to be these perfect things all the time. In some cases dirty just looks really cool. This picture is of our outdoor fireplace, the bricks are covered in soot and ash. I think a fireplace looks bests dirty....it shows it is used. This was taken on Saturday.

Food 16/52

How is this for colorful food? ...And no one would know it was Lean Cuisine :) Taken on my lunch break at work...It was cheap and easy. I had first taken a pic. of Guacamole but it didn't come out very well. - J

I think it is great Jen picked this one, one food is so colorful and you can get some great still life shots. Plus I just love food. Of any kind for the most part. This picture is of the candy apples Ryon and I were making for the Enlisted Assoc. It was fun, and they tasted yummy!!! It was taken two weeks ago.

FRESH 15/52

FRESH FLOWERS AGAINST FRESH PAINT.... The wall behind the flowers was just painted turquoise but for some reason it showed up kinda green...The flowers were just bought by Steve...Simple red carnations - JJ

I thought of fresh as spring or fruit. The feeling of seeing things bloom, looking out onto a new and fresh scene in your yards. Fresh Fruit it awesome, but none of those pictures caught my eye the way this cloud did. Rain brings fresh air, new growth, etc. Rains come from clouds. This cloud was floating all by its lonesome. It made me think it would be perfect for this week's theme.Plus the feilds below are being prepped for a new crop. So it just screamed "POST ME".

Shiney 14/52

I took this picture this week for the theme Shiney. When I had first picked it I was thinking of something chrome...These are the lights in our bathroom they remind me of lights that would be in a dressing room for a performer. - JJ

I knew I wanted to try to do something very abstract for this week's theme. So I took pics of tons of "shiny" objects. I did cd's, the crystal's that hang from some candlestick holders I own. I even did the bottom of my lights and then buttons on the dvd player. But this one is the best I think. I recently polished my silver picture frame. As you can tell it is all Shiney and new. I actually said that to my husband. "Look it is all shiney and new"....so that is what made me want to use it for this week's picture. It was taken last week at my house. I think it also fits because it is a PICTURE frame.

04 April 2009

cHiLdHoOd 13/52

I wanted to post a picture of something to do with bbq's. Growing up that was something that our family always did. GRILL. We would do it for big holiday's like 4th of July with everyone. Just to have a different dinner even in the middle of the week. It stopped as I got older and my parents and divorced. But I still love to be at BBQ'S as much as I did when I was young. The smell, the sounds, the food everything is enjoyable and precious to me .Now this was taken on the 3rd of April at a beerbbq/party we had. Forgive the roughness my photoshop is not working and the other edit program I use has expired on the trial version. So tommorow is payday and I can buy it.
~B~

I can not tell you how many times my two sisters and I watched this movie. Ever since we were young we would ask to rent it everytime we went to the video store. We knew it so well we would re-cite the script everytime we watched it along with the characters. We always made fun of David Bowie in his spandex pants cause you could see "his package" LOL. I blame Michelle for my knowledge what a package even was at such a young age. When I lived in Vegas we would go out side with our pit and play out the movie. I always wanted to be Sarah (Jennifer Conelly) and have our dog be Huggle :) I was so obsessed I had the poster and soundtrack. As an adult I bought it on DVD and plan to pass it on to my young ones...or any friend that wants to come over drink and watch it ;) Good times. - JJ

Signs 12/52

I took this sign at the Airport too...I love it! - J

This picture was taken inside of the airport terminal. The man and the woman next to each other for the world symbol of "bathroom/toilet" some reason seemed like the perfect idea for signs. I did not have time with school to edit it or anything but like I always say sometimes it is great to just get a rough shot.

Natural 11/52

I took this picture of the Ocean while we were in Oregon. I would have taken a closer shot but I didn't think to until we were by the car off a ways. I think of natural as pure as nature...And the Ocean has to be one of my favorite places to be on this Earth. - J

Natural can be taken as so many things, that is why I choose that as this week's theme. I really wanted to see the difference in the way we interpeted the word. I choose to have my natural be coffee beans. Plus there is a lil scoop in there that is man made, BUT OUT OF metal which is natural. So I did it in sepia toned and then darked the pic a bit. I am happy with the results. ~B~

Noir 10/52

I found these black roses at a store here in Seattle.
They aren't real and I have never seen a real one.
Thank god for that...they signify death!
I still think they are sleek looking.
These ones were made out of a wax like substance.
- JJ

So I was busy this week and I feel that my picture hurt for it. BUT I promise it will be better next week. This is a part of a painting I have. It is hanging it my hallway, it has fluer de leifs and crowns all over it. Soooo why desperatly trying to think of something "black" I took this one. I took it about 2hrs ago today. Which is Sunday the 15th. I think this is the best one. I put some of the "no no not this one" ones over at my blog. Which if you would want to check it out click here!! Till next week happy clicking.

Light 9/52

Here is my LIGHT...Hey so it's natural light :)
The sun shinning over Lake Washington- JJ

After Jen's really fun yet tough theme last week I wanted to pick something simple and easy. I love this lamp. I got it at Ikea here in Belgium. I love to take pictures of it at different angles. This photo has no editing done to cause I like the roughness of the shot. This was taken at my house(of course) Weds Night after yoga!!

Woman 8/52

So JJ picked a really diffcult theme this week. Find a woman in your surroundings. Girly parts is what she said. My first thought was FLOWERS. They look like a um...."venus mound". =) So I stuck to it. I appriecate the challenge and looked all week for anything else that reminded me of girly bits, but the flower is what did it. I do have a painting, some statues that are actually naked women. But I wanted to use something that was not made to look that way. So I took a few angles of the flowers, this was my favorite I changed it to Sepia. VOLIA mY VERSION
OF GIRLY BITS!!! ~Bridgette~

The bottom one is mine...It's actually a fortune cookie up close...but I was thinking it might look like someones bum or the Gyno's view of the shins before the woman spreads eagle...hehehehe. Either way I thought it would work. This was harder than I thought it would be!!!! - JJ
